360ContentMatrix

Cookie policy

In short

This site and the 360ContentMatrix service only use the cookies and the browser storage they need to work: to keep you signed in, to protect the sign in, and to remember two choices you made. They use no advertising, audience measurement, analytics, social network or tracking cookie, and no cookie from a third party.

Because they are strictly necessary for a service you ask for, or keep a choice you made, these cookies do not require your consent under article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and article 4(3)(e) of the Luxembourg Law of 30 May 2005 on the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector, as amended. This policy tells you what they are.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a site stores in your browser and reads again on your next requests. Browser storage (local storage) works in a similar way, on your device only. This policy covers both.

The cookies we set

  • The session cookie (named authjs.session-token, with a security prefix on the live site): keeps you signed in to the service after you open your sign in link. It holds an encrypted, signed token, lasts seven days, and is renewed once a day while you use the service. Strictly necessary.
  • The protection cookie (named authjs.csrf-token, with a security prefix): protects the sign in form against requests forged by other sites. It lasts for your browsing session. Strictly necessary.
  • The return cookie (named authjs.callback-url, with a security prefix): remembers the page to bring you back to after you sign in. It lasts for your browsing session. Strictly necessary.
  • The theme cookie (named cm_theme): remembers whether you chose the night or the day appearance of the service, so that the page is drawn in your choice from the first moment. It lasts one year and is only set when you choose a theme.

What we keep in your browser

  • cm-cookies-seen: remembers that you have read the cookie notice of the public pages, so that it is not shown again. It stays until you clear your browser's data.
  • cm-tour-voice: remembers whether you turned the voice of the guided tour on or off. It stays until you clear your browser's data.

These values never leave your device and are not sent to us.

What we do not do

We do not use cookies to follow you across sites, to build a profile, to measure our audience or to show advertising. The film on our pages is served from our own site, without any third party player. Our pages load no script from an advertising or analytics provider.

How to manage them

You can delete cookies and browser storage at any time, and set your browser to block them, from its settings. The help pages of the main browsers explain how.

If you block or delete the session cookies, you will be signed out and will not be able to use the service until you sign in again. If you delete the theme cookie or the browser storage, the service will simply forget the choices they kept.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use. If we ever wished to use a cookie that requires your consent, we would ask for it first, through a clear choice, before setting it.
